WILBRAHAM- RESURFACING AND RELATED WORK ON ROUTE 20
The Work under this Contract consists of the resurfacing, widening, and improvements of approximately 2.9 miles of Route 20 (Boston Road) from a point 1,600 east of the signalized intersection with Stony Hill Road to a point approximately 500 feet north of the unsignalized intersection with Cottage Avenue.
The proposed work along Route 20 includes mill and hot mix asphalt overlay with pavement shim, areas of full depth widening, new cement concrete sidewalks, and new cement concrete pedestrian curb ramps. The existing traffic signals at the intersections of Route 20 and Old Boston Road, Route 20 and Post Office Park West, Route 20 and Post Office Park East shall be reconstructed.
A new traffic signal shall be installed at the intersection of Route 20 and Cottage Avenue, and a new overhead flashing beacon shall be installed at the intersection of Main Street and Maple Street.
The proposed work also consists of clearing and grubbing, earth excavation, rock excavation, stormwater drainage system improvements, construction of a stormwater infiltration basin and
trenches, relocation of water mains and hydrants, installation of granite curbing and hot mix asphalt curbing, driveways, guardrail, providing and spreading loam borrow and seed, landscaping, pavement markings, signs, and other incidental work necessary to complete the required work.
