SWANSEA- IMPROVEMENTS ON ROUTE 6 (GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC HIGHWAY) AT GARDNERS NECK ROAD
Work on this project consists of traffic signal upgrades, geometric improvements, improved bicycle and pedestrian accessibility, signs, pavement markings, and/or geometric modifications. The intent of the project is to address safety concerns at this high crash location. Recommendations from the Road Safety Audit will be basis for design.

| Current Status: | The contractor plans to complete intermediate course paving on 12/1/25. They will then focus on grading and paving sidewalks and and driveways in preparation for Winter. Verizon continues utility relocations. Detours of Gardners Neck Rd., along with various lane closures on Rte. 6 will be utilized to complete work. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Expect periodic lane closures and restrictions. Roadway closed to traffic. Detour in place. (as of 11/26/2025) |
