SWANSEA- IMPROVEMENTS ON ROUTE 6 (GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC HIGHWAY) AT GARDNERS NECK ROAD
Work on this project consists of traffic signal upgrades, geometric improvements, improved bicycle and pedestrian accessibility, signs, pavement markings, and/or geometric modifications. The intent of the project is to address safety concerns at this high crash location. Recommendations from the Road Safety Audit will be basis for design.

| Current Status: | The contractor plans to continue box widening operations on the southeast corner. Curbing operations on teh southeast corner are expected to begin week ending 4/5/25. This work is expected to last over the next several weeks. A detour of the southern side of Gardners Neck Rd. is to be expected to be utilized for this work. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 Am to 3:30 PM. Expecty periodic lane closures and restrictions. Roadway closed to traffic. Detour in place. (as of 03/31/2025) |
