CHARLEMONT- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, C-05-037, WEST OXBOW ROAD OVER WILDER BROOK

This municipally owned, one-lane bridge consists of single span steel beams with concrete deck. It was originally constructed in 1940, but is currently closed to traffic. A temporary bridge is in place. The original bridge had a curb-to-curb width of 14 ft and a span of 37 ft. Traffic volume data from 2007 indicates an average daily traffic of 100 vehicles per day. If the temporary bridge were to be closed, NBI data indicates a 3.6 mile detour would be the alternate route. The proposed project consists of complete bridge replacement.
