NANTUCKET- INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT SURFSIDE ROAD AND BARTLETT ROAD

This project is intended to address an intersection that has a history of safety problems and exhibits congestion at peak periods. The proposal involves reconfiguring the skewed 3-legged intersection into a modern roundabout. It is also proposed to widen the existing shared use paths on the West side of Surfside Road and the South side of Bartlett Road to 10 feet. Other proposed work includes updating pavement markings and drainage, constructing ADA/AAB compliant grades, slopes and crossings at Bartlett Road and connections to the existing adjacent paths, incorporation of granite curbing to define the roundabout and channelized islands, along with consideration for incorporating ornamental landscaping and green spaces.
