TAUNTON- CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS AND RELATED WORK ON BROADWAY (ROUTE 138), FROM PURCHASE STREET TO JACKSON STREET (PHASE 2)
The project includes improvements to Broadway (Route 138) for approximately from Purchase Street to Jackson Street. Specifically, the improvements will include full depth roadway reconstruction and pavement resurfacing, drainage improvements, reconstruction of sidewalks with ADA compliant ramps, provision of bicycle accommodations, as well as geometric modifications and upgraded traffic signal systems.

| Current Status: | • Safety construction signs were installed on 3/20/25. • The meeting with an arborist and tree warden was held on 4/1/25. • Tree protection was installed on 4/14/25. • The utility meeting was held on 4/22/25. • Saw cut various locations for drainage installation finished on 4/18/25. • Test pits for drainage and utility locations were completed on 5/2/25. • Most of the hydrant replacement concluded on 6/17/25. One hydrant must wait for pole installation before being installed. • Most of the drainage improvements finished to be installed on 6/23/25. One catch basin must wait for pole installation before being installed. • TMLP is scheduled to start pole installation on the first week of August 2025. • Layout and saw cutting for full depth roadway construction started on 7/1/25. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 pm. (as of 07/08/2025) |
