TAUNTON- CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS AND RELATED WORK ON BROADWAY (ROUTE 138), FROM PURCHASE STREET TO JACKSON STREET (PHASE 2)
The project includes improvements to Broadway (Route 138) for approximately from Purchase Street to Jackson Street. Specifically, the improvements will include full depth roadway reconstruction and pavement resurfacing, drainage improvements, reconstruction of sidewalks with ADA compliant ramps, provision of bicycle accommodations, as well as geometric modifications and upgraded traffic signal systems.

| Current Status: | • Subcontractor finished mast arm foundations at the intersection of Broadway and Washington St/ Britannia St. on 11/3/25. • HMA patching through project was done on 12/5/25. • Full depth roadway construction started on 4/27/26. • Hot Mix Asphalt base and binder have been placed from Purchase Street to Washington Street as of 6/5/26. • Catch basins, manholes and water gates were raised from Purchase Street to Washington Street. • Curb installation started on 6/15/26. • Unclassified excavation and gravel borrow for sidewalks started on 6/16/26. • Forming for concrete sidewalks started on 6/30/26. • Pouring concrete sidewalks and driveways started on 7/14/26. • TMLP finished relocating facilities on 8/7/26. Poles are ready for Comcast and Verizon to transfer. • Electrical conduit and pull boxes are being installed at Washington Street intersection. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (as of 08/20/2026) |
