SHEFFIELD- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, S-10-015, KELSEY ROAD OVER SCHENOB BROOK
The recommended bridge replacement entails a superstructure with an increased hydraulic opening measuring approximately 70 feet in length and 16 feet in width. The superstructure comprises four adjacent prestressed concrete box beams supported by full-height concrete cantilever abutments with pile foundations and U-wing walls. Riprap will be installed along the entire channel of Schenob Brook beneath the bridge. The bridge and approach slabs will be paved with an asphalt riding surface, while the remainder of Kelsey Road will retain its existing gravel riding surface. The proposed roadway cross section will consist of a single lane, measuring 13 feet in width, featuring a crown at the center and 2% cross slopes. Guiderails will be installed on both sides of the roadway along each bridge approach.
