NEW MARLBOROUGH- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, N-08-020, KEYES HILL ROAD OVER UMPACHENE RIVER

The proposed project consists of the replacement of an existing one-span, multi-steel beam superstructure supported on gravity concrete masonry abutments and wingwalls. The existing bridge span length is 42’-2” center to center bearings. The bridge carries one 14-foot lane of traffic but is used for 2-way direction. The project will reconstruct full depth highway pavement, construct highway guardrail transition, and replace highway guardrails. In addition, the improvement will consist of converting the 14-foot lane to two 9-foot lanes. This change will not modify the roadway geometry in horizontal alignment but little vertical profile adjustment, roadway alignment will remain the same as the existing. Pedestrian and bicycle accommodations will not be part of the project. A detour will be required during the construction.
