WELLFLEET- PAVEMENT PRESERVATION AND RELATED WORK ON ROUTE 6
This project consists of pavement milling, resurfacing, and restriping of the hot mix asphalt pavement along Route 6 (Rt. 6) in Wellfleet from just north of Oakwood Lane near the Eastham/Wellfleet town line (MM 96.8±) to the MassDOT Main Street Improvement Project No. 607397 southern limits near Way 68 and just north of Cove Rd (MM 104.0±). The total length of this project is approximately 5.0 miles. The work on the Rt. 6 pavement preservation project will consist of pavement milling, resurfacing, re-striping including buffered bike lanes and crosswalks, new pedestrian crossing signals near Wellfleet Cinemas, at Marconi Beach Road, near Old County Road, and near Cove Road. Full traffic signal upgrades are proposed at the Marconi Beach Road intersection. In addition, new centerline rumble-strip, application of new pavement markings, guardrail replacement, new curb, sidewalk, and accessible ramps where bus stops are being improved, traffic management, clearing and grubbing, drainage improvements including adjustments and modifications such as but not limited to new structures, structure change in types, structure remodels, pipe work, and pipe and structure clean-out. Work will also include limited utility relocations, landscaping near the bus stops being improved, and other related work.
