Project Description:
NEW BEDFORD- INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS ON ACUSHNET AVENUE AT PECKHAM ROAD/SASSAQUIN AVENUE
Proposed improvements at the intersection are anticipated to include ADA compliant curb ramps, box widening along Peckham Road, mill/overlay along all four approaches, traffic signal installation, new pavement markings and signs.

    Current Status: • Traffic signal mast arm foundations began on 6/26/23. Utility relocation is needed to finish it. • Concrete sidewalk pouring started on 8/31/23. Utility relocation is needed to finish this work. • Utility poles installation (by Verizon) started on 10/10/23. Verizon started transferring cables on Peckham Road on 3/13/24. • Eversource started relocating their electric facilities on 10/25/23. Underground work began on 4/8/24. • Comcast started utility work on 1/3/24. Work was completed on 1/29/24. . Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. (as of 04/10/2024)
