Project Description:
LYNN- REHABILITATION OF WESTERN AVENUE (ROUTE 107)
The proposed improvements to the roadway include safety and operational enhancements to the corridor. The limits of the project extend along Western Avenue (Route 107) from Centre Street to Linton Road. The project also includes the three blocks of roadway stretching around the existing Stop & Shop (35 Washington Street) of Washington Street, Franklin Street and Boston Street. In total, the project distance is 2.2 miles and will be rehabilitated by means of mill and overlay. Traffic signals along the corridor will be upgraded to provide an acceptable Level of Service. Complete Streets principles will be incorporated with improved concrete sidewalks, ADA-compliant crosswalks and wheelchair ramps, bicycle lanes and upgraded transit accommodations where feasible. This project is an extension of the PRC-approved Route 107 Corridor Study completed by MassDOT that continues into Salem.
