Project Description:
NORTHAMPTON- DOWNTOWN COMPLETE STREETS CORRIDOR AND INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS ON MAIN STREET (ROUTE 9)
This is a complete street project consisting of right-of-way to right-of-way altering of Main Street (Route 9)and intersecting streets in downtown Northampton, from Market Street to Bedford Terrace. This project includes improvements to sidewalks, a new separated bike lane, installation of street furniture/tree belt, new curbing, pavement, pavement markings, crosswalks, and signage, along with adjustments at crossings and signalized intersections to be more bicycle and pedestrian friendly and to improve the functioning of intersections and the roadway.
