DISTRICT 5- ADA RETROFITS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS

The work to be done under this Contract consists of furnishing all required labor, materials and equipment required for the reconstruction of pedestrian facilities located within the designated project limits as shown in the Contract Drawings at various locations in six municipalities (Fairhaven, Hingham, Norwood, Plymouth, Swansea, and Walpole) within District 5. The project includes removal of hot mix asphalt (HMA) and Portland cement concrete sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps and installation of HMA and concrete sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps, granite curb, thermoplastic crosswalks, pavement markings, utility adjustments, drainage adjustments, signing, and other incidental items included in the Contract Documents. The scope of work also includes the maintenance and protection of traffic during construction, maintenance of vehicular and pedestrian access to abutting properties, and maintenance of uninterrupted utility service. The work includes furnishing all required temporary traffic control measures and work zone security to stage the construction safely. All temporary pedestrian facilities must be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board 521 CMR.
