Project Description:
DISTRICT 5- ADA RETROFITS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS
The work to be done under this Contract consists of furnishing all required labor, materials and equipment required for the reconstruction of pedestrian facilities located within the designated project limits as shown in the Contract Drawings at over 60 locations in Cohasset, Duxbury, Fall River, Hingham, Kingston, Marion, Plymouth, Rockland and Swansea. The project includes removal of HMA and Portland cement concrete sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps and installation of concrete sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps, granite curb, thermoplastic crosswalks, pavement markings, utility adjustments, drainage adjustments, signing, and other incidental items included in the Contract Documents. The scope of work also includes the maintenance and protection of traffic during construction, maintenance of vehicular and pedestrian access to abutting properties, and maintenance of uninterrupted utility service.

Current Status: The contractor has finished the new pedestrian curb ramps along Route 6 in Marion and has installed the new granite curb along N. Main St in Fall River. He plans to place the concrete ramps and HMA sidewalk in Fall River by 9/12/25. He milled the roadway along Route 3A at Pond St in Cohasset and plans to pave the area within the next 2 weeks. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Expect periodic lane closures and restrictions. (as of 09/02/2025)
