Project Description:
WAREHAM- CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS ON ROUTE 6 AT SWIFTS BEACH ROAD
The intent of this project is to improve bicycle and pedestrian accommodation along this section of the Route 6 corridor as well as provide a left turn lane as the Route 6/Swifts Beach Road intersection. Work on this project consists of pavement milling/overlay, traffic signal upgrades and installation, reconstructed sidewalks, ADA compliant curb ramps and associated roadway geometry.

    Current Status: The contractor is anticipated to begin mobilizing equipment to the project site in the coming weeks. Initial construction activities will include the installation of advance warning signage, implementation of erosion control measures, tree trimming, and installation of tree protection. Utility companies are also expected to mobilize to the site to begin installation of new utility poles. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Expect periodic lane closures and restrictions. (as of 09/29/2026)
