Project Description: |
HARWICH- HARWICH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS (SRTS)
The primary scope of work is to implement sidewalk infrastructure improvements/upgrades for the area immediately adjacent and contiguous to the Harwich Elementary School (HES) located at 263 South Street to facilitate a safe and accessible pedestrian connection from HES to Harwich Center. The sidewalk is proposed to be 5' wide asphalt with new 6" vertical granite curbing. The project as currently proposed runs along South Street in a northerly direction from the School House Drive @ South Street intersection to the South Street @ Main Street intersection, then along Main Street in an easterly direction to the Main Street @ Sisson Road intersection then along Sisson Road in a southerly and southwesterly direction to the Sisson Road @ Forest Street intersection for a total approximate linear length of 3,710 ft.
The proposed scope of work also includes the construction of 15 accessible curb ramps with crosswalks at the roadway intersections within the currently defined project limits. Limited signage improvements are also included within the scope of work. Landscaping is anticipated to be limited to loam and seed for areas disturbed by construction.
