Project Description:
CLINTON- RECONSTRUCTION OF STERLING STREET (ROUTE 62), FROM WILLOW/LAWRENCE STREET TO MAIN STREET
This project will include roadway reconstruction along Sterling Street from the intersection with Willow/Lawrence Street to just west of Main Street in Clinton, MA. Due to the severely deteriorated roadway condition, full depth reconstruction is anticipated. The proposed cross section will consist of two 11-foot travel lanes, 5-foot shoulders/bike lanes on both sides, and 5.5-foot sidewalks on both sides. Installation of new curbing along the corridor is anticipated as existing curbing is worn with little reveal. Existing sidewalks are either lacking on one side of the road or severely deteriorated, therefore new sidewalk on both sides will be proposed. New signs and pavement markings will be proposed to meet the latest MUTCD requirements. Improvements to the drainage infrastructure is anticipated as the roadway profile is generally very flat; therefore, additional catch basins will be added along the corridor. Reconstruction of short retaining walls less than 4 feet tall are anticipated. New curb-cut ramps will be proposed along the corridor as there are none that meet ADA/AAB requirements today.
