Project Description:
BROOKLINE- REHABILITATION OF WASHINGTON STREET
The proposed improvements to the roadway include safety and operational enhancements to the corridor and transformation into a complete street that accommodates all users and all transportation modes. Separated bike lanes are proposed between Beacon Street and Harvard Street. The project will include the rehabilitation of the roadway pavement, new cement concrete sidewalks, granite curbing, minor drainage system improvements, streetscape enhancements, new traffic signs and pavement markings. Traffic signals along the corridor will be upgraded. Complete Streets principles will be incorporated with improved concrete sidewalks, ADA compliant crosswalks and wheelchair ramps, bicycle lanes and upgraded transit accommodations including Transit Signal Priority and enhanced bus stop facilities where feasible.
