MANSFIELD- CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS ON CHAUNCY STREET (ROUTE 106) FROM STATE ROUTE 140 TO COPELAND DRIVE

The purpose of this project is to improve traffic and safety for all users along Chauncy Street (Route 106) between and including the intersections of Route 140 and Copeland Drive (0.33 miles). Both the Route 106/Route 140 and Route 106/Copeland Street intersections are High Crash Clusters and will be reconstructed as part of the project. Specific improvements will be made to pedestrian and bicycle accommodations and safety along the corridor, while also rehabilitating the roadway pavement. Proposed improvements include pavement reconstruction by mill and overlay with areas of full depth box widening; sidewalk construction including a shared use path accommodating bicycles, and new signs and pavement markings.
