TOPSFIELD- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, T-06-016, ON SALEM ROAD OVER THE IPSWICH RIVER

The project proposes to replace the Salem Road bridge over the Ipswich River, reconstruct its' approaches, and provide pedestrian accommodations within the project limits. The project limits are along Salem Road from Hill Street to River Road. The proposed improvements include full replacement of the bridge over the Ipswich River, installation of approach safety features such as guardrail and bridge rail transitions, reconstruction of Salem Road to provide 10' lanes, 3' shoulders, sharrow striping, and the construction of a 5.5' sidewalk. The sidewalk will be provided on both sides of the proposed bridge and along one side of Salem Road at its approaches, due to proximity of wetlands.
