SOMERVILLE- BRIDGE PRESERVATION OF 8 BRIDGES OVER GREEN LINE EXTENSION OVER MEDFORD BRANCH
This project will consist of various bridge preservation work items at eight bridges crossing over the MBTA Green Line Extension, in the towns of Somerville. The overpass bridges carry Cross Street, Walnut Street, Medford Street, School Street, Sycamore Street, Central Street, Cedar Street, and State Route 28/McGrath Highway. The proposed work varies for each bridge: The Cross Street bridge is planned for wingwall concrete repairs and sidewalk sealing. The Walnut Street bridge needs reporting of granite abutments and deck sealing. The Medford Street bridge is to receive superstructure painting and substructure concrete repairs. The School Street bridge needs reporting of granite abutments, deck sealing, and joint seal replacement. The Sycamore Street bridge needs reporting of granite abutments and resurfacing with waterproofing mix. The Central Street bridge needs reporting of granite abutments, superstructure painting, and deck overhang work. The Cedar Street bridge is to receive abutment concrete repairs and resurfacing with waterproofing mix. The Route 28/McGrath Highway bridge is to receive painting and steel repairs.
