DEERFIELD- INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS ON GREENFIELD ROAD (ROUTES 5/10) AT MILL VILLAGE ROAD AND NORTH MAIN STREET

This project is intended to improve safety at the Routes 5/10, Mill Village Road and North Main Street intersection. MassDOT was asked by the Select Board of Deerfield to look into this stop-controlled intersection due to numerous accidents due primarily to poor sight lines. This project will improve the approaching roadway geometry and sight distance. Exact geometric configuration has not been decided but includes the possibility of a roundabout, signal and/or addition of turning lanes and other safety improvements. The roadways would include box widening and resurfacing or reconstruction, including curbing, Bike and Ped accommodations, possible SU,P new line striping, and signage throughout.
