| Project Description: |
SANDISFIELD- ROCK STABILIZATION ON ROUTE 8
As of Sept-2024, specific details of the construction work are under development with MassDOT Geotech Section, but the project scope will likely include a combination of rock/ledge removal and installation of a rock catchment/containment system along the west side of Route 8, within a one-mile segment of highway just north of the Connecticut line. This section of Route 8 has a history of rock-falls from an existing ledge face, posing a on-going threat to highway users.
