Project Description:
AUBURN- WORCESTER- IMPROVEMENTS ON ROUTE 20 (WASHINGTON STREET), FROM 1000 FEET EAST OF COMMERCE DRIVE TO 1500 FEET EAST OF THE AUBURN-WORCESTER T.L.
The purpose of this project is to enhance safety, functionality, and connectivity on US Route 20 in Auburn and Worcester. This involves milling and overlaying the pavement, pavement widening, modifying pavement markings, and upgrading drainage features. The project will install a shared use path, sidewalk and improve bicycle and pedestrian facilities at driveways, access points, and intersections. These enhancements will promote healthy transportation options such as walking, bicycling, and public transit. This project complements the planned HAWK signal project at the eastern project limit and extends the Auburn Development Shared Use Path at teh western limit, creating a vital connection within the local network. Overall, these improvements will boost safety, accessibility, and sustainable transportation,benefiting the community's quality of life.
