BOSTON- INSTALLATION OF NOISE BARRIERS ALONG I-90 BETWEEN MARKET AND FRANKLIN STREETS (ALLSTON MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION PROJECT EARLY ACTION)

MassDOT is proposing two noise barriers along the westbound lanes of I-90 near Lincoln Street, from Market Street to Franklin Street to mitigate highway traffic noise for nearby residences.The barrier is located entirely within the MassDOT State Highway Layout (SHLO) and designed to enable the City of Boston’s long-term plans for a shared-use path connection through the Allston-Brighton corridor. The design provides adequate clearance for a future Shared Use Path within the SHLO, ensuring that construction of the barrier will not preclude or complicate future City-led mobility improvements.
