MILLBURY- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, M-22-005, ROUTE 122A OVER THE BLACKSTONE RIVER

The work under this project consists of the replacement of the Route 122A Bridge (N. Providence Road) over the Blackstone River. The proposed bridge will be a single span concrete box girder bridge with a cast-in-place concrete deck. New abutments will be constructed behind the existing abutments. The steel piles will be rock socketed into ledge. A handicap accessible sidewalk will be provided on both sides of the bridge. The width of the proposed bridge will be approximately the same as the existing bridge. The existing wingwalls will be replaced with concrete wingwalls of approximately the same lengths at the four corners of the bridge. The roadway between Canal Street and Maple Street will be fully reconstructed. The existing vertical and horizontal roadway alignment will be maintained. The bridge will be closed during construction and a detour route will be established. The project also includes the demolition of one building/dwelling.
