FRANKLIN- ROUTE 140 RELOCATION, INCLUDING BR# F-08-005 ROUTE 140 / CONRAIL (UNIONVILLE BRIDGE) & BR# F-08-026 ROUTE 140 / I-495

The project involves the relocation and widening of 1.5 miles of Route 140 (West Central Street) from 950 feet west of the westerly entrance to Forge Parkway to 600 feet east of the Franklin Village Shopping Center. This project also includes improvements to the I-495 Interchange Exit 17. The relocation of Route 140 includes the construction of a new 4-lane divided roadway, two signalized at grade intersections at Forge Parkway (East & West), a new 560 foot span bridge over Mine Brook and the railroad, relocation of the Garelick Farms and MBTA Commuter Park & Ride lot driveways and associated wetland replication areas. The I-495 Interchange 17 improvements include the widening of West Central Street from 2 to 4 lanes through the I-495 Interchange, a new widened I-495 overpass structure, ramp widenings, two ramp terminal intersection traffic signals and the modification of the Franklin Village Shopping Center/Pond Street signalized intersection.
