Project Description:
LEVERETT- BRIDGE REHABILITATION, L-09-011, ROUTE 63 (LONG PLAIN ROAD) OVER NEW ENGLAND CENTRAL RAILROAD (NECRR)
The work under this project consists of replacing the Route 63 (Long Plain Road) Bridge over the NEC RR. The proposed structure will be a three-span steel beam reinforced concrete deck structure with new stub abutments. The approach roadways will be reconstructed to achieve the required minimum vertical railroad clearances by raising the profile. The new bridge will be constructed in stages on a new horizontal alignment to the west. A temporary traffic signal will be installed to manage the alternating flow of traffic during construction. A new concrete sidewalk will be constructed on the south side of the bridge.
